JACKIE DOVE
All my dreams lately deal with frustration, anger, and me being a smoker (which is odd because I don't smoke). I always have a cigarette, and I'm always trying to hit (but no matter how hard I swing, it's only a light tap on someone's face) or I yell (but can't make a sound).
I don't usually dream a lot, but when I do I remember almost every detail. Plus, I keep a book next to my bed to write dreams down as soon as I wake up so I don't forget.
LOCATION: Smithtown, New York
WORK/SCHOOL: I go to the school of visual arts in Manhattan, and I dorm there. Half the year I live in the city, and the rest of the time I go between Long Island and California to see my parents. I work at Target, in the food court, with a few of my friends. We are also friends with our manager, and I love it because it's easy, I have fun, and I am paid well.
LIVE WITH ANY OTHER PEOPLE OR ANY PETS? During school, I lived with 5 other girls, all very different from myself, and it was kind of chaos. Now I live and work on Long Island, all by myself. It's a hard transition.
EXPLAIN A BASIC WORK/SCHOOL DAY: During school, I usually had anywhere from 3 to 6 hours of class a day. I would wake up at 11 usually, and at 9 if I had homework to finish up. After class, I would relax and procrastinate for an hour or two, then do homework until about midnight. Then me and my roommate Allie would usually go to a bar. If I had a lot of work, I would stay home and stay up until about 6 a.m.
As of now, I am not on the schedule for work yet, so I just cover hours when people call out. I could get called in on any given day, so I never really make plans. I'm living from day to day.
ACTIVITIES DURING AN AVERAGE WEEK: Where I am now, I have a very unstable schedule. See the above question for reasons why.
DESCRIBE YOUR AVERAGE WEEKEND: My weekends and weeks all run together. All of my friends either dropped out of college or are home from it, so everyone can hang out basically all the time. We have a lot of movie nights at home, to to bars a lot, drink wherever, basically. What can I say? We're young college students. It'll be out of our systems eventually!
WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO BUT DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR MONEY? I would love to travel and see the world. When I graduate college I plan on backpacking in Europe for a month before I have to get serious and get a real job. I would also love to live in New York City year round, it's an amazing place. I can't stand living on Long Island, and most nightmares I have take place in my house on Long Island. Other than that, I love my life.
ARE YOU HAPPY WITH YOUR JOB/SCHOOLING? I am completely in love with my school. I'm an illustration major, and I only hope that I get a good job after school and can continue to do art and make money for it. I love my teachers, my dorm, and most of all my environment. It helps me to be really creative.
DO YOU EAT BEFORE GOING TO BED? Not usually, but if I've been drinking then yes. I'll eat pasta or usually pizza right before I go to sleep.
DO YOU HAVE A REGULAR SLEEP SCHEDULE? Usually I'll go to bed around 3 or 4, and wake up at one if I have nothing to do. I'll get up earlier if I have work or plans.
DO YOU DREAM DURING NAPS? I can't ever nap during the day. I did maybe once, and I didn't dream.
DO YOU SELF-ANALYZE YOUR DREAMS? Yes, I keep a dream dictionary next to my bed with my journal, and I have a good website bookmarked on my computer. I'm really into trying to figure out what my dreams mean.
