Upbeat, friendly, helpful . . . honest, relaxed and refreshing!

AGE: 22

LOCATION: Hattiesburg, Mississippi (during filming)
-- Las Vegas, Nevada (current)

WORK/SCHOOL: I am a barista at a local coffee shop. We have a pretty laid back atmosphere with a lot of college students hanging around studying and surfing the internet. The baristas tend to become pretty good friends so we get really crazy and silly at times, particularly on slow days. We have a good time.

EXPLAIN A BASIC WORK/SCHOOL DAY: Usually I have to wake up around 4:30 a.m. to get ready for work at 5:30. I am usually at work baking, preparing coffee drinks, and cleaning until around 1:00 p.m. Then I go home, take a shower, and usually nap. The rest of the day is spent doing a variety of things from hanging out at home to meeting with friends. However, my days are never the same because I do not have a set work schedule. I don't attend classes since I graduated in May of 2006.

ACTIVITIES DURING AN AVERAGE WEEK: Right now my weeks consist of working, sleeping, and hanging out with family and friends. Nothing too glamorous here. I'm enjoying not being busy all the time with working full time and going to school. I'm just relaxing before I move out to Las Vegas.

DESCRIBE YOUR AVERAGE WEEKEND: Once again, my weekends are much like my weeks. I may catch a band here or there, but pretty much I work and hang out. A lot of times I spend time alone. I'm not a highly social person.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO BUT DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR MONEY?
I absolutely LOVE to travel. I travel as often as I can to visit friends and family out of state, but I don't have the funding to do this as often as I'd like. I really want to travel overseas to Europe, but haven't quite had the necessary means to do so at this time. I also enjoy dabbling in photography, but I don't have the monetary means to purchase some of the equipment I would like to have.

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH YOUR JOB/SCHOOLING? As of right now, I'm perfectly content with my coffee shop job. I'd like to make more money, of course, but I enjoy having a flexible schedule and I've been in my current position for almost 3 years, so I'm really comfortable there. It's not very stressful and I get to make money without being in a "grown up" job just yet. The way I see it, I'm on the cusp of being expected to be an adult and still being accepted as a kid. So, I'm taking advantage of still being able to be a kid without all of the adult responsibilities. This is my time to travel and explore and figure out what I really want to do. This is my time to experience different things while I have no kids and am unattached to marriage and things of that sort.

As far as school goes, I am very happy with the fact that I am not currently enrolled. Maybe someday I will go back, but for now, I'm enjoying the freedom from papers, studying and classes in general.

DO YOU EAT BEFORE GOING TO BED? Sometimes. I try not to, though, because it usually makes me feel gross.

DO YOU HAVE A REGULAR SLEEP SCHEDULE? Not really. I get phone calls at random hours and my work schedule is different all the time. Sometimes I go to bed at ten and wake up at 4:30, sometimes I can sleep in . . . it's random.

DO YOU DREAM DURING NAPS? Sometimes I dream and sometimes I don't. I've heard you always dream, but you don't always remember it. I dunno.

DO YOU SELF-ANALYZE YOUR DREAMS? I try sometimes, but I usually end up over-analyzing and confusing myself about the meaning of my thoughts. It's usually better if I just say . . . wow . . . that dream was really weird/scary/great/etc. and leave it at that. I think my choosing to major in psychology may have caused me to have more questions than answers about the human mind and behavior.
